Cominco Gardens

Cominco Gardens are located adjacent to the Kimberley Health Care Centre in Kimberley's Townsite area.  Cominco Gardens was originally built to showcase the Elephant Brand Fertilizer which Cominco Mine produced.  The Gardens feature over 45,000 blooms each year and is free to visit.

Also visit Nina & Roland's Hillside Garden View at 440 Spokane Street.   A beautifully orchestrated garden flowing along their quaint home.  They serve fresh home cooked lunches throughout the summer.  Call 427-4681 for more information.

Kimberley Alpine Resort

Kimberley Alpine Resort is an excellent historic and authentic ski resort that is perfect for families, and offers everything you are looking for in a ski getaway.

Kimberley's Underground Mining Railway

Nestled in the Rocky Mountain Trench in the East Kootenay region of BC is the City of Kimberley: the home of the historic Sullivan Mine and the Underground Mining Railway. The Kimberley underground Mining Railway is owned and operated by the Sullivan Mine and railway Historical Society.  The Kimberley Mining Railway has been in existence, in one form or another, for 25 years and it has developed into a unique tourist attraction for the whole family.

Visit us and ride the rails through the beautiful Mark Creek valley as you listen to the history of Kimberley and the Sullivan Mine.  Experience life as a miner at the underground interpretive centre.  Participate in our Mining Show and be exposed to working mine equipment.  Enjoy spectacular scenery and occasional wildlife as you travel to the Kimberley Alpine Resort.  After a brief stop at the Resort Station you can learn more about Kimberley as you return back to the Downtown Station.

Kootenay Trout Hatchery

The Kootenay Trout Hatchery went into production in 1965 and is responsible for stocking 130 to 150 lakes in the east and west Kootenay regions, as well as some lakes in the Thompson-Nicola and Okanagan regions.The Visitor Centre has an extensive interpretative area which includes aquariums, educational models, and displays. Guided Tours are available from May through August. A variety of educational programs are available for schools and other groups by donation. Children's fishing pond and nature trail is also available for kids to try their luck at fishing.

Marysville Falls

Marysville Falls, located off the main street in Marysville, is over 100 ft high within the beautiful rocky ledges of Mark Creek.

Visiting the Falls is very easy and there is no charge.  Once in Marysville there is the main street bridge over Mark Creek.  On one side is a community park with parking featuring local artisans work, on the other side is the trailhead to walk to the Falls.  It is only a 5 minute walk to the Falls on a maintained path.

Northstar Rails to Trails

The old railway bed from Kimberley to Cranbrook has been paved and it is now the most scenic walking and cycling pathway you can find. Winding 28 km through forests, open meadows and across St. Mary River is is suitable for all ages. In Kimberley the trailhead is located opposite the Civic Centre Arena.

The Platzl & Cuckoo Clock

The Platzl is a pedestrian-only outdoor shopping mall in the downtown core and features unique shops, specialty cafes, and fantastic dining. Live performances take place on weekdays during the summer months. The Platzl also features the largest free standing Cuckoo Clock in North America.

    The City of Kimberley has officially launched a new Business Retention & Expansion (BR & E) survey. The City wants to better understand the future plans and needs of local businesses and how business owners/managers view Kimberley as a place to do business.

    The information from the survey will be used to plan future economic development activities focused on the top priorities of the local businesses. Businesses are encouraged to participate in the telephone survey and since selection is random, you may be contacted between January 16th and February 4th. For more information click here.

    To better align with the changes happening in our local business community the Kimberley & District Chamber of Commerce is undergoing a full restructure. Part of that restructuring is reviewing all agreements and re-strategizing to fully support our thriving business environment. We are dedicated to continuing to work with our members and key stakeholders to provide an exceptional level of support and services to our business community. Stay tuned as we roll out our new strategic plans and initiatives for 2019.

Preference will be given to projects with long-lasting, sustainable impact.     The annual BC Farmers' Market Conference will be held March 8-10, 2019 at the Kimberley Conference & Athlete Training Centre. This year's conference theme is "Cultivating Community" and will explore how we can grow and strengthen the farmers' market sector through outreach and connections, working with the various members of our communities.

    The conference brings together farmers' market organizers, board of directors, farmers, small scale food processors, and community leaders. The weekend will include workshops, networking opportunities, social activities, and the annual Farmers' Market Awards.
